Sustainable business more profitable tui tells suppliers
TUI director calls for penalties for unsustainable operators and incentives for sustainable ones
Your business will be healthier, more profitable, and a more attractive solution for your customers’: Johan Lundgren tells suppliers
In a video released today for TUI Travel’s Viewpoint series, Johan Lundgren, Deputy Chief Executive, explains the business benefits of sustainability and how it is fundamentally embedded within the Group’s strategy.
In the video, Lundgren highlights a simple message: disregarding the issue of sustainability will not facilitate the long term future of business in general. He discusses how sustainable thinking drives both cost savings and repeat business through higher customer satisfaction levels on unique holidays.
Stressing the importance of a level playing field for operators, Johan also calls for incentives for those that embed sustainable practice into business and penalties for those that do not.
When asked about the future of sustainable tourism for TUI Travel, Johan said: ‘We should not be complacent in this area, there is so much more to go to for, we’ve got to continue to be innovative, we’ve got to continue to be impatient. We’ve been on a journey, we are leading in this area, but we can still do more.’
