Sydney New Year’s Eve 2007 ………..”The Time of Our Lives “
Sydney will celebrate “The Time of Our Lives” this New Year’s Eve with a world class fireworks display on the city’s shimmering harbour.
A majestic boat parade, Harbour of Light, and two fireworks shows will dazzle over one million spectators expected to line the harbour foreshore with millions more watching the live TV broadcast.
Lord Mayor Clover Moore MP says Sydney’s beautiful harbour is the ultimate setting for the City of Sydney’s New Year’s Eve celebrations.
“Sydney’s New Year’s Eve celebrations will be as big and beautiful as ever. We welcome Sydneysiders and visitors to share a great night together to celebrate this year’s theme ‘The Time of Our Lives’,” Ms Moore said.
The Sydney NYE fireworks displays are regarded as the largest and most technologically advanced on the planet.
Shells, comets, and other explosive devices will be fired from six barges and the Sydney Harbour Bridge for the midnight show.
Sydney New Year’s Eve fireworks displays involve in excess of 3,000 kg of explosive devices; approximately 11,000 shells, 10,000 shooting comets, and a total of 100,000 individual pyrotechnic effects.
For a safe and enjoyable New Year’s Eve down at Sydney Harbour:
** spectators heading to the harbour foreshore should plan ahead and take public transport
** pick a vantage point and be aware that it may fill up quickly
** remember not to take glass to the event
** put rubbish into the bins provided
At the harbour or at home, tune your radio to 2Day FM to hear the synchronised fireworks soundtracks and get the full multimedia NYE experience.
For home viewers, Network Ten will broadcast the 9pm and Midnight Shows.
