Taiwan plans erotic theme park

Taiwan is planning an erotic theme park with an on-site hotel to attract more tourists to the little-known island.

Stretching 60km along the southern coast, the ‘Romantic Boulevard’ will include love-themed statues, a glass church, heart-shaped arches and a ‘kinky’ outdoor park with erotic sculptures of people or animals, said the Wall Street Journal.

It will take inspiration from South Korea’s Jeju Loveland Park, which has 140 sculputures.

Shih Chao-hui, the deputy director of Taiwan’s Southwest Coast National Scenic Area Office, told the US newspaper:  "We want people to fall in love with Taiwan as well as fall in love while in Taiwan.

"We hope to appeal to visitors in all stages of love. So we even plan to have a ‘Lost Paradise’ for those who are broken-hearted."

Only around 38,000 British nationals visit Taiwan every year.
