Teletext Holidays seeks new travel partners

Wednesday, 10 Sep, 2013 0

Teletext Holidays is opening up its website to new business partners, including tour operators and travel agents not previously featured, following an investment in marketing and new technology.

It said the changes would help generate more than £180 million of bookings in 2014.

In a statement issued yesterday, managing director Daniel Taylor said Teletext was "looking to form closer relationships with partners to most effectively showcase the broadest range of holiday offers, at the best possible prices".

He said the proposed changes, which include increased investment in marketing and an overhaul of Teletext’s technology platform, would deliver substantial growth in booking volumes for its partners.

Two years ago, former MD Victoria Sanders slashed the number of tour operators featured by Teletext by 70%.

At the time, she said it made more commercial sense for Teletext to work with a smaller base of clients.

As a result, Teletext has just 15 core partners.

However, Taylor, who replaced Sanders in April, said that as the company was now opening up the site to new partners. "We’re asking existing partners to re-affirm their commitment, and our invitation to be part of this process extends to the industry."

Client development director Adrian Prett said: "We are interested to hear from any specialist operators who believe they can bring something unique."
