Teletext moves up market by opening luxury travel website
A new website dedicated to luxury travel has been unveiled by Teletext as part of planned expansion into niche sectors.
The inluxury.co.uk site offers holidays from leading travel specialists including Bales Worldwide, Cox and Kings, Virgin Holidays and Abercrombie and Kent.
It is aimed at discerning travellers who are not traditionally served by Teletext Holidays, according to the company.
Teletext claims it is the only website in the UK which enables travellers to find a “perfect luxury escape” by conducting one simple search. The site checks thousands of luxury holidays, selecting the most relevant from a range of operator. Once a user finds a holiday, a direct link to the operator’s website or call centre enables the booking to be made or allows the customer to request more information.
Searches can be conducted by price, destination/resort or by holiday experiences. Advertising is being sold via Teletext Holidays’ in-house sales team with additional tour operators set to join the site.
Managing director Matt Cheevers said: “There are no other UK websites which provide consumers with the ability to search across all of the leading luxury tour operator sites via one simple search.
“As well as providing consumers with a great service, it allows our advertisers and travel partners to directly target one of the fastest growing niche sectors in the travel industry.”
