Terrified passengers watch as man threatens to stab pilot
Passengers described as “petrified” with fear watched as a US businessman on a transatlantic flight to the UK drinking large quantities of wine and beer allegedly threatened to stab the pilots with a shard of glass, according to the Daily Mail.
He was travelling in business class from Phoenix, Arizona, to Heathrow on a British Airways 747, but appeared to explode with rage after being refused more alcohol by flight attendants, according to the newspaper.
Tim Bradley, 32, is said to have downed wine and beer at 30,000 feet before threatening fellow passengers and spitting at the cabin crew, The Sun reported. Witnesses claimed he brandished a shard of glass after being refused more alcohol.
Passengers aid that during the almost 10-hour flight he was repeatedly shouting, swearing and stumbling around, while spitting at those who tried to calm him.
Passenger Lesley Lewis was sat close to the man on the long flight.
‘At one stage I could see him holding a broken glass ready to attack the crew and talking to himself,’ she told The Sun.
“Although the cabin crew tried to pacify the passenger, his behavior continued to be unacceptable and the flight was met by the police,” the spokeswoman said. ”We do not tolerate abusive behavior towards our staff or customers.”
