Thailand Grand Festival

To honour and celebrate His Majesty King Bhumiphol Adulyadej of Thailand’s 60th Accession to The Throne, the Thai Government offices together with the Thai community are staging a “Thailand Grand Festival 2006” at Tambalong Park, Darling Harbour, Sydney from 10.30hrs – 18.00hrs on Sunday, 9th April 2006.

Marquees will be exhibiting the works of the beloved King, Thai cooking demonstrations, fruits and vegetables carving, and Thai products. Two leading hospitals in Thailand will have their stands to promote medical tourism.

A chanting ceremony by the Buddhist monks will be performed to celebrate the Thai New Year (Songkran).

Thai classical dances, Thai classical music, Thai boxing and a Thai silk fashion show will be performed through out the day on the main stage.

Thai food stalls will be set up by some well-known Thai restaurants in Sydney to sell Thai food and sweet for all comers.
