Thailand launches TV campaign in NYC, LA markets
A new TV campaign will be bringing the ‘land of smiles’ into New York and Los Angeles homes throughout this month.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched a new TV ad campaign targeted to New York and LA viewers in partnership with two of the leading tour operators in each market.
The campaign will last until the end of the month including the busy Thanksgiving holiday.
TAT has joined forces with smarTours in Los Angeles and Friendly Planet in New York.
A total of 78 30 second spots will air in Los Angeles and 88 in New York on CBS and NBC affiliates in each market.
Each market will have a different series of ads.
In New York, ‘the Thai Way of Life’ will be the focus, showing that ‘Amazing Thailand Begins with the People.’
The LA ad spots will show viewers cultural aspects of Thailand life featuring visuals and Thai music.
It will feature Thai food, beaches, waterfalls, a floating market, underwater life and cultural festivals.
"This campaign is an important way to get the message out to consumers that we are excited to welcome them to our amazing land of smiles," said Srimala Waraphaskul, Director, NY Office, Tourism Authority of Thailand.
"We wanted the spots to help paint a vivid picture of Thailand as a truly special place where travelers can experience first-hand our culture, beauty and, of course, the Thai people themselves."
Greg Geronimus of smarTours hopes the campaign will show travelers how cheap a Thailand vacation can be.
"There are few places in the world where you can spend two weeks, including airfare, and enjoy upscale hotels for well under $2,000 per person. Thailand should be near the top of anyone’s list who is looking for an amazing travel experience at an exceptional value."
