The Travel Corporation’s portfolio of brands and the TreadRight Foundation celebrated World Tourism Day with the launch of immersive volunteer trip extensions for guests.
A global partnership has been forged with social enterprise ME to WE, to offer community based volunteer trips as extensions on set departure dates or as a custom trips.
It is available for guests of TTC brands including Trafalgar, Contiki Holidays, Insight Vacations, Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection, Lion World Travel, African Travel, Inc. and Adventure World.
The ME to WE programs enable travelers to engage in meaningful sustainable development work in India, the Ecuadorian Amazon or Kenya.
"Through our not-for-profit TreadRight Foundation, we have been working to create a positive impact to promote sustainable tourism worldwide, with carefully selected partners and projects and some of the numerous local communities we visit," said Brett Tollman, CEO of The Travel Corporation.
"Many of our travelers are open to experiencing meaningful travel with unforgettable, moving experiences. We are therefore very excited to be supporting ME to WE’s outstanding immersive volunteer trips."
All meals, ground transfers, transportation and local sightseeing excursions are included and accommodations are fully owned and operated by ME to WE.
"What makes ME to WE trips unique is that travelers have the opportunity to contribute to sustainable development work, which has a 20 year history impact and we are so pleased to be partnering with The Travel Corporation along with the committed support of their involved brands," said co-founder Craig Kielburger.
Travelers will enjoy a rainforest adventure in the Amazon jungle in Ecuador, help build a classroom in Rajasthan, India or be trained in the craft of beading in the Maasai Mara, Kenya.
The ME to WE travel team organize all the volunteer trip extension inquiries and bookings with details listed on each of the respective TTC brand websites.
