The Travel Industry Careers Association to launch new website

Wednesday, 12 Nov, 2008 0

The Travel Industry Careers Association will unveil its consumer website to industry luminaries at a morning tea event to be held Wednesday 19 November 2008 (10-11am) in Sydney.

Mandy Scotney, TICA Chairperson, is inviting industry employers and management to join this event and gain a greater understanding of TICA’s initiatives to address the skill shortage in the travel industry, both now and in the future.

Scotney comments that in the next 10 years the travel industry will

need over 320,000 people to fill roles in our industry and that Australia has a shortfall of 290,000 new entrants entering into all areas of the workforce over the next 5 years.

“TICA is actively working to meet the challenges that statistics such as these hold for the future of our industry.”

“The website is a key tool in promoting our industry as an industry of choice and providing information for career seekers.”

“It is particularly important that we maintain momentum during this difficult economic climate, in order to continue to attract candidates to the industry in years to come. We look forward to launching our site and updating the industry on our achievements in 2008”.
