Thomas Cook digital chief to leave
Thomas Cook chief digital and marketing officer Gilles Despas has left the group and will not be replaced.
Despas, who led the creation of a strategic alliance with Expedia, will stay with the business until the end of December.
"Gilles has decided that now is the right time to move on to other projects. I want to thank Gilles for the enormous commitment and belief that he has demonstrated in his time at Thomas Cook and wish him every success in the future," said chief executive Peter Fankhauser.
Meanwhile, group marketing moves to Magnus Wikner who adds to his current responsibilities for the Nordic market with the newly-created role of chief of Nordics source market and group marketing.
Digital will be ‘wrapped in’ with IT in a new function, led by Alan French as group strategy and technology director.
Group complementary product, focusing on the implementation of the Expedia and Webjet agreements, will be led by Thomas Hohn who adds to his current responsibilities for Continental Europe in the role of chief of Continental Europe source market and group complementary product.
Commercial director Bjorn Sandstrom is also leaving the business and will not be replaced. Instead his role will be split between Chris Mottershead and Thomas Holn.
