Three quarters of business travelers now book online

Nearly three-quarters of business travelers say they use Internet booking as their primary method for arranging air travel, according to a new survey by the consulting firm, Accenture.  This include trips booked online through in-house corporate systems and commercial travel sites.

Not surprising, the survey reveled that frequent-flier programs in selecting their airline influenced 54 percent and 38 percent were ‘greatly influenced’.  Customer service was rated at equal or higher important factor.

Reward programs and customer service for the surveyed business travellers less influenced hotel selections.  One-third cited reward programs, while more than two-thirds cited the quality of customer service.

Almost three-quarters (72 percent) of the survey respondents reported they primarily use major airlines for business travel, and approximately half (48 percent) reported they had experienced flight delays in the last six months.
