Tiger loose in Brunei
SINGAPORE – Brunei has granted Tiger Airways an operating permit that will allow the low-cost carrier to launch services between Singapore and Bandar Seri Begawan.
Tiger Airways would be the only low fare airline operating between Singapore and the island of Borneo with the inception of this new route.
The new service will also boost Sarawak and Sabah, Brunei’s near neighbours, which have been lobbying hard for new air connections.
Ticket sales for the new service are expected to start soon.
Tony Davis, CEO of Tiger Airways said, “This creates new opportunities to link travel across Tiger Airways rapidly growing route network.
“Other Malaysian cities neighbouring Brunei, such as Miri, Labuan and Kota Kinabalu, are also expected to benefit from the greater accessibility to Tiger Airways’ low fare flights.”
