Time to lobby for votes in British Travel Awards

Wednesday, 03 Sep, 2019 0

Travel firms nominated in the British Travel Awards are being urged to encourage clients to vote.
With less than four weeks to go before the deadline on September 30, BTA chief Lorraine Barnes Burton said some companies had not been proactive in their lobbying efforts.

"Many nominees have been busy lobbying their happy customers for votes. Some have added dedicated BTA pages, or the vote for us button to their websites; they’ve utilised social media – with the link to their direct vote form to lobby support and they’ve included the BTA nominee logo and vote button in their press advertisements and other collateral," she said.

"Some companies haven’t been as proactive, or they’ve been strategic to give their competitors a false sense of security by holding back on their efforts! Those that are lagging behind still have time to catch up, especially as voting activity reaches its peak during September when the majority of consumers return from their travels with the experience fresh in their mind."

However, nominees are also advised to check the lobbying rules to make sure they aren’t disqualified.
Companies can see the final BTA 2019 leaderboard to see where they stand and how much more lobbying they need to do.

As well as being the voting deadline, September 30 is also last date to buy tickets to the BTA Gala night in London on November 27 at 2018 prices.
