Titanic memorial cruise set for 2012

Monday, 22 Jun, 2010 0

Australian passengers are being offered an opportunity to join the memorial voyage onboard Fred Olsen Cruise Lines’ Balmoral departing Southampton April 8, 2012.

Over 13 days, Balmoral will follow the course of RMS Titanic’s original itinerary – passing Cherbourg on the French coast before calling at the Irish port of Cobh.

From here the ship will sail across the Atlantic, arriving at the Titanic site on April 14-15 – exactly 100 years on from this tragic voyage, where a memorial service will be held.

The voyage will then continue to Halifax, Nova Scotia, the final resting place of many of those who were on board, before sailing on to New York, Titanic’s ultimate planned destination.
