Top-level changes at BSI
Accommodation, meetings and event management solutions company BSI has had a senior level management shake-up.
Commercial director Trevor Elswood steps up to become managing director, succeeding Charles Cockell, who becomes deputy chairman.
As a major shareholder, together with chairman Simon Milsted, Cockell will remain on the board working on strategic matters and other special projects, BSI said.
Elswood joined BSI eight years ago and became a main board member in 2005.
Cockell said: “After 21 years, 13 of which as group managing director, I have decided to give up this role and hand over the running of the group to Trevor Elswood.
“The last 13 years have been memorable for me. To see BSI grow over the years to where it is today, has been an experience I will never forget. The support that I have had from the management and staff has helped me enormously to achieve the goals that I set out some 13 years ago.
“The board’s decision to appoint Trevor as the new group managing director is in recognition of his skills and vision which are acknowledged throughout our industry.
“BSI therefore remains in safe hands and I wish him every success. As the most respected specialist in our sector, BSI is best placed to represent clients through the changing times ahead.
“Under Trevor’s leadership I am confident that BSI will continue to do the very best for our clients and achieve even greater success in the future.â€
Elswood said: “I am excited by the opportunities that are laid out before BSI. The company has the advantage of great platforms from which we can continue to build on our position as market leader, delivering an uncompromised total accommodation and MICE management solution to corporate and government markets.â€
