Tourico Holidays touts huge growth in Latin America bookings

Tuesday, 18 Nov, 2016 0
Leading travel wholesaler Tourico Holidays has revealed a 45% year-over-year increase in hotel room nights booked in Latin America.

The strong growth was attributed to big increases in most source markets, especially China which quadrupled compared to a year ago.

US bookings for LATAM hotels were up 47% and more than 200% in Canada.

"There are a number of encouraging reasons the LATAM travel market is growing and shows no signs of slowing down. Several of the domestic economies, such as Brazil, are beginning to bounce back. Meanwhile Europe and the United States continue to add more inbound flights at very attractive prices – funneling more  travelers into the region," said Gisela Blok, Tourico’s vice president of product in Latin America.

Tourico Holidays works with more than 6,000 hotel partners in Latin America including major global and regional chains like Hyatt, Wyndham, Marriot, Hard Rock, Posadas and Barcelo.

It also has a physical presence throughout the region with offices in Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, Cancun and Mexico City.

"Tourico maintains a very strong inventory and presence in Latin America, but we’ll continue to strike pre-buy deals with hotels in the region, ensuring travel distributors throughout the world have access to the finest inventory at the best rates," Blok added.
