Tourism campaign for Tweed Coast
THE Tweed Coast , a stretch of coastline from Kingscliff to Cabarita , will be promoted to the world during a multi-million dollar tourism advertising blitz , rebranding the area as ” the New Tweed Coast”.
A group of high profile developers, responsible for projects on the Tweed valued at more than $4 billion, are attempting to create a fresh identity for the region.
The consortium, consisting of the Ray Group, Consolidated Properties, Multiplex, Resort Corp and APH Properties, will spend $600,000 over the next six months on a widespread, print and television marketing campaign pushing the Tweed’s wide range of tourism accommodation as well as the region’s natural beauty.
Consolidated Properties managing director Don O’Rorke, who has overseen the sprawling $700 million Casuarina Beach development, admitted it was unusual for competing developers to band together.
He said the publicity campaign would feature television ads and a glossy tourism booklet to be inserted in most major newspapers, as well as the Qantas in-flight magazine.
