Tours and activities platform Klook beefs up leadership team
Major Asia tours and activities platform Klook has strengthened its leadership team as it seeks to scale up its presence into many new markets beyond Asia.
It announced two hires including Anita Ngai who joins Klook as chief revenue officer.
Ngai was previously general manger for Asia Pacific for rival Viator, and also served as head of marketing, Asia for Hotels.com.
"It is an exciting time to be in the tours, activities and in-destination service space. Its complex and fragmented supply creates a large opportunity for online platforms to differentiate themselves," said Ngai.
The company also announced the appointment of David Liu as chief product officer.
He joined Klook in 2016 and had been serving as vice president of product and UX.
"We are very proud to be able to add such well-seasoned executives into our management team. With that, and our recent funding rounds and accelerating user and supply acquisition, we are well-equipped to sustain Klook’s growth in the long run," said Klook CEO Ethan Lin.
Klook has grown swiftly to offer about 35,000 tours, activities and other travel experiences and added Goldman Sachs to its list of backers following a recent $60 million funding round.
