Trafalgar Joins Cruise Council
The International Cruise Council Australasia has signed up its first river cruise member – Trafalgar River Cruises.
Announcing the addition, Council General Manager Karen Christensen said Trafalgar’s membership was indicative of the breadth of cruise product now available to Australian travellers.
“From rivers to oceans, there’s a type of cruise to suit everyone,” Ms Christensen said.
“It’s our goal to make sure travel agents are aware of the diversity of cruises available and are equipped to help their customers choose the best cruise.
“Having a member like Trafalgar will really help broaden agent understanding of our sector even further,” Ms Christensen said.
She said Trafalgar would take the Council’s membership numbers to 20.
Trafalgar River Cruising operates a fleet of 10 ships offering four- and five-star river cruises in Europe, Russia and Egypt.
Paul Wiseman, the Managing Director of Trafalgar, which operates Trafalgar River Cruises, said river cruising was the fastest growing product sector for Trafalgar.
“Five years ago river cruising was not popular with Australians, but now, with all the new ships and destinations, it is one of the hottest products we offer,” Mr Wiseman said.
He said Trafalgar had joined the Council to help build agent knowledge of river cruising and further raise its public profile.
