Trafalgar is now offering 18 itineraries designed specifically for multi-generational travelers in their 2012 “Family Experiences” brochure. They include activities for all ages, from children to grandchildren.

The trips include the Americas, Europe and South Africa.

Clients can save with Trafalgar’s “Travel With Family and Friends” offer, giving groups of 5 and more a discount of 5% per person off the land portion of their trip. “The Young Travelers” offer also gives guests 17 years and under up to 10% off when accompanied by an adult.

On the 11-day Gladiators, Gondolas and Gold trip (from $2,799 per person, land portion only), families weave their way through three of Italy’s greatest cities, spending three nights in each location. On the first night in Rome, clients will enjoy a kick-off party to meet and mingle with fellow travelers. Family-oriented activities include pizza-making lessons and a visit to a Roman Gladiator school.

The trip also goes to Florence and Venice.

For an educational and adventure-filled vacation down south, families can book the eight-day Monkeys, Jungles and Volcanoes (from $1,375 per person, land portion only), traveling through lush Costa Rica. The trip starts off in the Tortuguero National Park, where they will mingle with exotic rainforest animals and also meet local schoolchildren.

If families are looking for a vacation in their own backyard, the eight-day California Dreamin’ (from $1,999 per person, land portion only) starts in San Francisco, then heads to Lake Tahoe, Yosemite National Park and Monterey.
