Train companies offer free travel to Flybe staff and customers for seven days
All train operators in Britain have agreed to provide free travel to Flybe staff and customers unable to travel over the next week as the industry rallies round following the airline’s collapse.
Passengers need to show their boarding card or flight confirmation, while staff need to provide proof of employment.
Airlines have launched rescue fares, with British Airways and easyJet also offering free flights to Flybe staff on routes they operate.
Ryanair has launched £19.99 rescue fares for Flybe customers flying on the following routes: Liverpool-Knock, Bournemouth-Dublin, Belfast-Stansted, Bristol-Dublin, Belfast-Manchester. The fares are valid for travel until the end of April, but must be booked by midnight on Sunday, March 8.
Flybe franchise partner Blue Islands is still flying and has added extra services from Jersey and Guernsey to Exeter and Birmingham.
EasyJet has introduced special fares to any former Flybe route which easyJet also operates, with free flights for Flybe staff.
British Airways has special fares to and from Aberdeen, Amsterdam, Belfast City, Edinburgh, Jersey, Dusseldorf, Geneva, Milan, Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow, Inverness, Leeds Bradford, Paris and Nice, as well as offering to fly Flybe staff home for free.
The Civil Aviation Authority is adding details of more rescue flights as they come in.
