Travel Counsellors branches into Australia
Following a recent announcement that Travel Counsellors will open in South Africa, the UK based innovative market-leading travel company has now decided to expand into Australia.
This will mark the sixth launch of what Travel Counsellors call their award-winning service overseas in the past two and half years, with agents now numbering over 780 across the globe, also operating from Ireland, Netherlands, Germany, South Africa, the US and the UK.
Although Travel Counsellors’ Australian headquarters will be based in Melbourne, their home-based agents will operate throughout the country using the company’s award-winning technology to provide tailor-made solutions to Australian customers’ travel needs.
A full range of travel products will be available to customers through relationships with suppliers in Australia and across the world.
Peter Watson and Tim Martin will be directors of the Australian company, both having extensive experience in the travel industry, with Peter having worked with Jetset, ATAC, Jetset Travelworld and Concorde and Tim having established National World Travel in various Australian locations and in Tasmania and then also working with both Jetset Travelworld and Concorde.
Peter said: “Both Tim and I were amazed when we first saw the depth and sophistication of the technology, training and business development support that the company provides to its counsellors.”
“But more than that, what makes Travel Counsellors so unique is the quality of the people, their level of professionalism and experience and its unique family ethos that comes from the Chairman David Speakman and is shared by the whole team.”
“We knew straight away it would be a big success in Australia and we wanted to be part of it.”
Within its first year of operation, Travel Counsellors aims to recruit up to 70 experienced agents in Australia, who will be fully trained to the company’s exacting standards.
Commenting on the launch in Australia, MD Steve Byrne says: “We are the market leader globally and in building a truly international business and brand, we felt it important that we position ourselves in Australia.”
Founder and Chairman David Speakman added, “We want to build the best travel company in the world and our expansion into Australia is a very important step along the way.”
“Our Travel Counsellors are successful because they are committed to building lasting relationships with their customers and we look forward to bringing all the tools, experience and technology that we have developed, to Australia.”
