Travel Counsellors revamps website

Thursday, 23 Jul, 2004 0

A revamp of Travel Counsellors website means that customers are now directed to home-working agents rather than the company’s call centre.

The website http://www.travelcounsellors.com has been redesigned to channel enquiries to individual agents rather than feeding through to the call centre operation.

Visitors to the site enter their postcode on the homepage to be provided with a list of their 12 nearest home-workers. Other details include the nearest agent’s home-town, phone number, email link and a shortcut to the agent’s personalised web page.

The company has allowed each of its 400 agents to write their own text for their individual web pages.

Customers who know the agent they wish to contact but need further details such a telephone number or an email address can enter the agent’s name on the homepage to receive full contact information.

Marketing manager Caroline Bevington said: “Our agents have an average 18 years experience so it makes complete sense for us to promote our highly skilled staff rather than compete against them with a direct sell solution.”

New on the homepage is a list of the agency’s top destinations of the month plus more detail on the company’s cruise, ski, business travel, long haul, short haul, city break and ‘travel extras’ offerings.
