Travel Leaders Group and ALTOUR announce a merger
Travel Leaders Group and travel management firm ALTOUR recently agreed to a merger which will create a combined business generating more than $24 billion in revenue annually.
The two companies said there will be no major operational changes with both keeping their names.
Additionally, ALTOUR’s CEO Alexandre Chemla and TLG’s chief executive Ninan Chacko will continue to serve in their respective posts.
Chemla will take a seat on the board of Travel Leaders Group.
"The leadership at Travel Leaders Group and at ALTOUR recognize that by coming together as one entity, we can offer greater opportunities to our agents and to our supplier partners, which in turns allows us to better serve the traveling public," Chacko said.
"When you take into account each of our travel agency groups and brands, the size and scope of what we can offer business, luxury and leisure travel agents and clients is truly unparalleled."
Travel Leaders Group, through its myriad brands such as Andrew Harper Travel, Colletts Travel, Tzell Travel and Nexion, has annual sales of more than $21 billion.
ALTOUR generated sales of $2.6 billion in 2016.
Chacko said ALTOUR’s strong presence in the UK market is a big plus.
"That ALTOUR has a sizable hold on the market in the UK definitely means more growth for us there."
"ALTOUR handles both corporate and leisure. However, its strength does give us a strong foothold in corporate travel," he added.
