Travel media under microscope at ITB Berlin

BERLIN – The first ITB Media Summit will take place on Berlin Exhibition Grounds on March 12 when leading figures from politics, the media and the travel sector will discuss issues concerning the future of communications in the tourism industry.

The following questions will be addressed:

How will travellers/tourists of the future obtain information?

Are blogs, Facebook & other social media replacing travel publications?

Will the media’s role as a disseminator of information decline?

What future lies in store for travel journalists?

Wolfgang Clement, former German Federal Minister of Economics and an experienced journalist, will deliver a keynote address

Other speakers include Benjamin Jost, founder and CEO of TrustYou, the world’s first search engine for internet ratings, and Tobias Jüngert, area manager of the Corporate Communication Division of REWE Touristik, and long-serving editor of the leading trade publication FVW International.

The ITB Media Summit take place from 12.00-14.00 in Hall 7.1a, Saal New York 3.
