Yesterday was an amazing day for travel and tourism shares – nearly every stock in the “News From Abroad index” rose yesterday as London’s equity markets pushed ahead. The FTSE 100 index gained 21.3 points to close at 4461.4, while the FTSE 250 added 52.5 points to end the day at 6016.1. The day’s best performances included Carnival, Easyjet, and Lastminute.com, all of which made significant gains.
