There were few moves of major consequence among travel industry shares as London’s equity markets stuttered.

The FTSE 100 index managed to gain just 3.5 points to close at 4347.5, while the FTSE 250 dropped 19.1 points to 5812.5 – a decline of 0.3 per cent.

Dealers were not busy by recent standards; 2.3 billion shares were traded before the 6pm count.
