Travelers not all reluctant road warriors

Thursday, 25 Sep, 2007 0

Is it really so bad being a road warrior? Maybe not, says a new survey.

Sixty-two per cent of more than 1,500 road warriors surveyed worldwide said they “often” enjoy business travel and 18% said they “always” enjoy it.

The best part of travelling for work?

“Seeing new places,” said more than one-third of the travellers surveyed by travel rating website TripAdvisor.com.

And almost half said they often tie business trips into pleasure by taking advantage of company-expensed trips.

What are the most common problems?

“Flight delays and cancellations are the biggest irritant,” according to more than half of those in the survey.

Another third or so said recent airline delays and cancellations will affect their business travel plans. Twenty-two per cent of the respondents said they plan to take fewer business trips this year than last, while 18% plan to take more.
