TravelMole Exclusive: Tourism Society names CEO
The Tourism Society has appointed an ex cruise and destination management executive to the full time role of chief executive.
Carrie England takes over from director Adrian Clark who is retiring. She previously worked for Royal Caribbean International and Destination Asia. Ms England is well travelled, having spent time living in Vietnam and Antigua, and travelling through Alaska, Mexico, China and Australia.
The job pays £30,000 plus bonuses.
Last month the Society named Millennium & Copthorne Hotels marketing director, David Curtis-Brignell as its new chairman. He took over from Graham Wason, who left the post because it is rotated every three or four years.
The Tourism Society aims to support the tourism industry by providing training and education and promoting sustainable tourism.
