A hotel commission recovery service for agents is to be provided by Galileo and Worldspan parent Travelport.
An agreement with commision recovery service provider Net Trans will provide automated commission reporting and collection processing.
Travelport claims this will increase agents’ commission income while lowering operating costs.
“Net Trans hotel commission service offers up to 40% increased commission for the average travel agent and is a complete outsourcing of the challenging area of hotel commission,” claimed Chris Zando, head of global partnerships & alliances at Travelport GDS.
“We’re pleased to offer a solution that helps our agents save and make money, delivering improvement in revenue retention, cost reduction and improved business processes.”
The Net Trans solution claims to provide agents with full transparency of their data so they know how much commission has been paid and how much is still owed.
Net Trans also chases unpaid commission wherever in the world the hotel booking is done.
All commission collection and reporting will be based on the data going through the Galileo and Worldspan systems, with monthly reports provided to agents.
Net Trans CEO Martin Jørgensen said: “Net Trans will help Travelport agencies boost their hotel income.
“For time-strapped agents, a highly effective means of bringing in incremental revenue that requires almost no work on their part, is a total win.”
