Triton conference special: Consortia to negotiate separately
Global, Worldchoice and Advantage will negotiate separate deals for their respective members in future, revealed Triton director John McEwan.
However, McEwan insisted that Advantage was committed to the Triton consortium.
“Yes, we are staying, we’re not pulling out,†he said. “But we’re not going to have common deals in future and we’ll manage our own individual relationships with partners.
“We want Triton to be seen as a vehicle for independent agents and we’ll look at where we can work together and have a much stronger voice at ABTA.
“Triton will remain and evolve, but it will no longer be a buying group.”
McEwan said that despite the growth in sales for Triton products, the majority of its members’ bookings were for business partners.
“It’s a complimentary thing, selling the different products. To fulfil the needs of customers, we need a broad supply of products,” he said.
