Triton conference special: McEwan replaces Heal as Triton chairman
Worldchoice chairman Colin Heal is stepping down as Triton chairman and will be replaced by Triton director John McEwan.
Heal made the announcement at the conclusion of the Palma conference and said he was going after three years, to concentrate on working with the Travel Trust Association.
“The Worldchoice/TTA deal is likely to be concluded in the near future,†he said, “and I feel I need to put my energies into ensuring it is a success.
“I’ve been chairman of Triton for three years, I’ve more than done my time and I feel it’s time for a new chairman.
“However, Worldchoice will continue to be fully represented on the board and after the April 29 board meeting, John McEwan will succeed me as chairman.â€
In a light-hearted reference to McEwan’s previous stance of encouraging Advantage members to attend their own conference ahead of the Triton event, he said: “I’m sure John will give due consideration to the overseas conference next year.â€
