Tropical storm to pass by Mauritius
Holidaymakers in Mauritius are being warned of a tropical storm due to pass the islands today.
The UK Foreign Office said Tropical Storm Fakir is forecast to bring hazardous sea and weather conditions.
It is expected to pass at about 120 km to the south west of Mauritius by this afternoon.
"You should monitor the progress of approaching storms from the Mauritius Meteorological Services and follow the advice of the local authorities," said the FCO.
Kuoni said it was monitoring the situation closely and was in contact with ground staff.
It said ground agents have been asked to contact all clients locally ‘as a courtesy’ to ensure they are okay and prepared for the storm and hotels are being ‘very proactive’ and are providing entertainment and regular updates.
The international airport is still operating with any disruption, added a spokeswoman.
