TSA rolls out dedicated screening lanes for families
The US Transportation Security Administration has rolled out the new ‘Families on the Fly’ program, aiming to ease the security screening stress for young families at airports.
The new initiative provides dedicated security lanes for families at select airports.
It also gives dedicated screening for service members and their families.
Additionally, the trusted traveler TSA PreCheck program will offer discounted fees for families in the near future.
The new ‘Families on the Fly’ initiative has launched initially at two airports in a pilot program.
These are Orlando International and Charlotte-Douglas International.
It will be expanded to John Wayne Orange County Airport, CA and Daniel K Inouye International Airport in Honolulu soon.
Other airports flagged to get the service soon include Charleston International Airport, Jacksonville International, Rhode Island T F Green International Airport, Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport and Tampa.
“There will be expanded areas that will give them the benefit of recognizing that they have children with them and will help make sure that we have the ability to take care of,” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said
