TUESDAY ASH ALERT – Flight restrictions to run until Friday?
Restrictions on UK airspace are expected to remain until at least 19.00 on Friday evening, TUI Travel warned today.
The company has several in-bound flights returning to the UK today, the first of which was from the Dominican Republic to Glasgow Airport.
Communications director Christian Cull said “Thomson appreciate the importance of our customers’ holidays and the impact that the closure of UK airspace has had on their plans.
"Since yesterday morning, staff in the UK and overseas have been working round the clock to ensure that our customers are inconvenienced as little as possible.
"In the UK we despatched special assistance teams to the airports to ensure our customers
were kept up to date with the latest information.
"Our overseas teams have also been working hard to look after those customers who were due to return home.”
