TUI appoints telecoms boss as new marketing chief
The former managing director of Vodafone in Germany has been named as TUI Travel’s new chief marketing officer.
Erik Friemuth will take charge of the Group’s future marketing and brand strategy, said the company.
"Stronger differentiation of the TUI brand and the hotel and tour operator portfolio is one of the core elements of the oneTUI programme initiated by TUI Group CEO Friedrich Joussen," it said.
Friemuth (46) will have overall responsibility for TUI Travel’s group marketing function and TUI Cruises, TUI AG Hotel brands, Robinson and Hapag Lloyd.
TUI chief executive Peter Long said: "The appointment of Erik with both his international and CRM experience will be important elements as we continue to drive growth both in profits and customers."
Friemuth will also be a member of the TUI AG Management Board.
