TUI launches new website for jobseekers

Thursday, 25 Sep, 2013 0

TUI Travel has changed the way it recruits for the majority of its UK customer-facing roles, which it says will make it easier for potential recruits to find jobs within the Group.

A new website tuitraveljobs.co.uk will now handle all recruitment for eight of its brands – Thomson, First Choice, JCA, Sunsail, Travelbound, Crystal Ski, SkiBound Holidays and Flexiski.

The portal gives potential employees access to information about the specific brands and information on the 100 different customer-facing roles that UK businesses are currently recruiting for.

Whereas previously, recruitment was handled by each of the individual brands, TUI said it had created the website to provide a ‘one stop shop’.

"This will show the breadth of choice when researching and applying for new opportunities, whilst ensuring a seamless application experience," it said.  Successful job applicants will also be able to more easily move around the brands or change roles within head offices, said the company

Collectively the businesses are looking to recruit more than 1,500 people for over 100 different job roles across nine different countries for summer 2014.

TUI Travel has opened the application process for summer 2014 for the most popular roles, such as overseas customer advisors and childcare, with the aim of getting all 1,500 staff in resort by April 1 next year.

Group HR director Jacky Simmonds said:  "This change will mean recruitment for UK roles at many TUI Travel businesses are now housed under one roof. This includes not only overseas roles, but also airline, retail and call centre opportunities.

"Our current and prospective employees will have the opportunity to move around the brands or roles within head offices.

"The benefit to our current employees is that they can easily move within the Group and develop an exciting lifelong career within TUI Travel.

"This is mutually beneficial to both our staff and customers, as employees will have a greater understanding of the business as a whole."

A smart phone and tablet-friendly version of the website will be launched in October.
