TUI launches solicitor apprenticeship programme
TUI has launched a solicitor apprenticeship programme in partnership with the University of Hertfordshire.
It claims to be the first company in the travel industry to launch a scheme of this kind combining on-the-job training, legal work experience and academic learning.
Taking around six years to complete, the apprenticeship provides paid work alongside studying at the university.
"We’re really excited to be able to offer such a fantastic opportunity to train to become a solicitor without the infamous and highly competitive search for a training contract and the added bonus of earning while you learn rather than just accumulating student debt," said Pete Baxter, general counsel TUI UK and Ireland and the programme’s sponsor.
"At the end of the six years the course is designed so that the apprentices are fully rounded solicitors who also understand the commercial environment."
Applications for two successful candidates initially are open from Wednesday July 18 and close on July 31 2018 with information for prospective applicants available at https://tuijobsuk.co.uk/work-at-tui-travel/apprentices/tui-solicitor-apprentice/.
Since the year 2000, more than 5,500 apprenticeships have been offered by TUI in the UK.
