TV’s Lisa Snowdon launches ‘Japanuary’
‘Japanuary’ is replacing Dry January and Veganuary as the latest craze to kickstart the New Year.
TV star and model Lisa Snowdon is fronting the new campaign.
A Japanuary calendar of activity has been created for people to follow during January, covering the best of the Japanese way of life, including food, health and leisure suggestions for each day of the month, encouraging a healthy and productive start to the New Year.
Japan is hosting the Tokyo 2020 Olympics this summer, on the back of last year’s Rugby World Cup, which helped showcase the country’s landscapes, culture, culinary and hospitality (locally known as omotenashi).
The Japanuary calendar, supported by a number of Japanese businesses and the Japanese National Tourism Organisation, allocates a Japanese activity that celebrates a different aspect of Japanese life, through either the mind, body or spirit.
Activities spanning the month of January include making authentic Japanese rice dishes, taking time out to enjoy nature in the forest and having pamper evenings with friends.
