Two dead as Hurricane Roslyn slams Mexico’s Pacific Coast
At least two people died as Hurricane Roslyn made landfall on Mexico’s Pacific Coast.
Nayarit Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection said two deaths were confirmed so far in separate towns.
About 150,000 homes are without power.
Roslyn made landfall as a Category 3 hurricane but has since been downgraded to a tropical storm.
It landed near Santa Cruz in northern Nayarit, with winds of120 mph
Nayarit is home to several popular tourist beaches.
Winds and storm surge has damaged homes and overturned vehicles in the states of Nayarit and Jalisco.
The Puerto Vallarta area has escaped major damage, said Adrian Bobadilla, head of the local civil defense office.
