UK theme park faces prosecution after child’s death
Drayton Manor Park Ltd is facing prosecution under health and safety laws after the death of an 11-year-old child two years ago.
Evha Jannath from Leicester was on a school trip in 2017 when she fell from Splash Canyon at the Tamworth park.
The ride has remained closed since the incident.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) said proceedings have not yet started because an inquest into the child’s death has not yet taken place. It is due to happen next month.
The park faces prosecution under Section 3 of the Health and Safety at Work Act.
A spokesperson for Drayton Manor Park told the BBC: "It would not be appropriate for us to comment until the inquest concludes."
