Unclaimed phone causes bomb alert on flight
A plane was forced to turn back from the runway amid bomb fears when an unclaimed phone was found under a passenger’s seat.
The Turkish Airlines flight to Istanbul was delayed for more than four hours after the mobile was discovered on the plane at Mumbai Airport, India.
The aircraft was directed into a remote parking bay and all 250 passengers were evacuated and searched before being allowed back on board.
The flight, which was scheduled for 6am, eventually took off at 11.30am yesterday.
A spokesman for Mumbai Airport told the Sun: "Turkish Airlines flight to Istanbul was called back from the runway at Mumbai Airport after a suspicious object was found in the aircraft."
