United Airlines appoints new head of inflight services
United Airlines has announced the appointment of a new boss for its 24,000 flight attendants.
John Slater has been named as senior vice president of inflight services.
Slater began his decades-long airline career in the sky as a flight attendant with the old People Express Airlines and also served as vice president of United’s Chicago O’Hare hub and as vice president, sales for the Americas region.
"John has the experience and passion to lead our Inflight team, and he brings with him a first-hand view of what it takes to deliver great service to our customers," said COO Greg Hart.
"His understanding and appreciation that we are a people business are clear, and I am excited to have him supporting our dedicated flight attendants."
He begins in the new role on Monday, June 11
