United plans Chile, Caribbean flights from Houston
United Airlines will launch a daily service to the Chilean capital Santiago from Houston starting December 7.
Subject to approval, flight 847 will depart Houston at 9:05 pm for arrival in Santiago at 9:40 am the following morning, using 214-seater Boeing 767-300 aircraft.
The return trip leaves Santiago at 10:45 pm and touches down in Houston at 5:40 am the following day.
"With our first-ever service between Houston and Santiago, Chile, we are expanding our already substantial presence in Latin America," said Alex Savic, United’s managing director of Latin American sales.
At the same time United announced further international services from Houston.
On December 20, it will resume a seasonal Saturday service from Bush Intercontinental airport to Aruba, which will continue until May 2015 and will add a weekly round trip Sunday flight during periods of high demand.
Also beginning December 20, a year-round Houston-Punta Cana, Dominican Republic will operate with added seasonal departures on Sundays.
Besides Houston, United said it is awaiting approval for planned seasonal departures from Chicago O’Hare to Belize City due to take flight from December 20 through May 2015.
