United slam dunks with Sydney Kings

United Airlines has signed on as a corporate partner of the Sydney Kings in the Australian National Basketball League.

The corporate partnership will be for the duration of the 2012-2013 NBL season and will see United’s brand presence at the Kings’ home games, as well as consumer giveaways through the Kings’ fan networks.

"With our Australian office located in Sydney and our long history to connect the city and the U.S for more than 25 years, we have a strong link with the city," said Alison Espley, United’s director for Australia and New Zealand

"Basketball is experiencing considerable growth in the Australian market at present, and with the strong alignment with US culture, our partnership was a natural fit," she said.

United said it would engage with Sydney Kings fans to promote the strong culture of basketball in Australia and the unique synergy with United’s US destinations – in particular Los Angeles, whose Lakers team shares the same colors as the Kings.

Throughout the season, United will be giving fans the chance to win trips to Los Angeles flying with United.
