Universal Music Group launching hotel brand
Universal Music Group hopes to hit the right note with joint venture partner Dakia U-Ventures.
The two companies have teamed up to establish UMusic Hotels.
The joint venture unveiled its first three hotel locations in Atlanta; Biloxi, MS; and Orlando.
More hotels are planned across the US and globally.
The hotels will ‘serve as creative hubs’ to showcase local culture and music, as a place for fans, guests and artists.
"Every destination holds a great story just waiting to be told through its cultural heritage and its music. Through this new concept, we will help people discover new ways to channel their love for music and the arts," said Robert Lavia, Chairman, Dakia U-Ventures.
UMusic Broadwater Hotel in Biloxi will have an integrated music venue, as part of a a $1.2 billion hotel and entertainment resort.
The UMusic Hotel Atlanta will also include a ‘holistic entertainment venue.’
"UMusic Hotels will both highlight these cities’ rich music heritages and provide new opportunities for artists to reach fans in innovative and authentic ways," said Bruce Resnikoff, President and CEO of Universal Music Enterprises.
Universal owns Abbey Road Studios, Capitol Records, and Def Jam Recordings.
