US Embassy removes terror alert for tourist street in Kuala Lumpur
The US Embassy has removed its warning about a possible terror threat in a tourist street in Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur.
It had issued an alert to its citizens to avoid Jalan Alor and the immediate areas around the street on Thursday September 24 after ‘credible threat information regarding a potential terrorist act’.
Jalan Alor is in the popular tourist district of Bukit Bintang.
Police stepped up security in the area and the UK Foreign Office shared the warning on its website.
However, on Friday the warning was removed.
