Ventura arrives in home port
P&O Cruises’ new superliner Ventura arrived in Southampton in a snowstorm on April 6, 2008.
The £300 million ship sailed into its home port on schedule from its Italian ship yard.
The 3,000-plus passenger vessel will be showcased to the travel trade and consumers over 10 days, including the formal naming ceremony by Dame Helen Mirren on April 16.
A two-night party cruise will run prior to the naming and the PAssenger Shipping Association 50th anniversary dinner will be held on board on April 14.
Ventura will set off on its maiden cruise from Southampton to the Mediterranean on April 18.
