VIA Rail offering ten-day pass
VIA Rail Canada this summer is offering a 10-day pass for the Quebec-Windsor corridor at prices starting at US$291.
Year round, VIA Rail Canada has a variety of trips.
One of its most popular trains is the three-day, three-night Canadian from Toronto to Vancouver. The train is the only regularly-scheduled train in North America to be included in the Society International Railway Travelers 2008 “World Top 25 trains.”
Scenery ranges from mountain sheep grazing in the Rockies to the skyline of Toronto.
On most VIA corridor trains travelers have a choice of Comfort (economy) or VIA 1 first class accommodations. VIA 1 travelers receive personalized service. They also can use the amenities in the Panorama Lounge (Québec, Montréal, Dorval, Ottawa, Kingston, Toronto and London), while awaiting priority boarding.
An assortment of snacks and beverages, offered to customers at-their-seat is available for purchase in Comfort class. Pay-for-use wi-fi service is also available on all Corridor trains.
Other train options include a railway route aboard one of Canada’s last remaining authentic steam-powered trains for a half-day excursion or Sunday brunch or Sunset dinner ride. The Hull-Chelsea-Wakefield Steam Train takes visitors along the windy Gatineau River to the picturesque village of Wakefield. Guides, musicians and singers help liven up the journey. Prices start at $41 for adults.
